An order to lay a tile should take the form of
Tile number : Location : Tile orientation : Any conditions you wish to make
The concept of tile orientation is fundamental to the writing of clear orders. The orientation of a tile is defined by where the side with
the tile number is located. Orientation 1 has the number on the top left side and subsequent orientations move it one side clockwise.
The tile sheets on this site all show each tile in orientation 1.
As a further aid the tile section of each game contains a link to download a pdf of the orientations.
If we consider tile #5 from the 1829 set then it can be laid as follows:-
So if we consider this section of the 1829S map
We have decided to lay a tile #5 on the Home station of the LBSCR, which is hex C10, and we wish the tracks to point towards hexes D9 and D10.
The order would be :- Lay #5 , C10 , 2.
