Some Points to note:
On some sections the wight was redistributed which resulted in a lower maximum axle weight which in turn allowed a lower RA.
Parts of classes are only shown where there their RA classifications differ.
This table shows from the 1947 changes onwards. note that prior to this there were only 8 RA classes.
I have chosen to not include the former LNER electric locomotives as they are restricted to electrified lines.
The Diesel classes are shown using the E&NER 1962 classification system, for classes not included within this system the loco number is shown. My attempt to show how this 1962 classification relates to earlier and later systems is here It should open in a new tab or window.
BR locos are shown in black. Locomotives On Trial are shown in grey.
